Product + Ingredient FAQ
Are all of your ingredients organic?
No, but you will find that we strive to incorporate as many organic ingredients as possible in our formulations. But as we expand our vendor relationships, we always search for an organic option if one is available.
Do you use all raw + unrefined oils and butters?
With the exception of 3 ingredients (tucuma and cupuacu butters and walnut oil) our ingredients are unrefined, cold pressed oils and butters.
Do your products contain preservatives, parabens or sulfates?
No. But if a future product required a preservative we would include a plant derived option. While preservatives are deemed to be taboo, they are needed in products that contain water such as a toner, lotion, body wash to prevent the development of mold, fungus, yeast or bacteria in your product. With your skin being your biggest organ and the ability to absorb most things that are put on it, your well being is our top priority and not what a magazine or beauty guru has deemed not necessary. My body butter arrived melted. What do I do?
If your non-whipped body butter has melted due to high temperatures encountered on its journey to you, please open it slowly, stir it for a few seconds and then allow it to solidify at room temperature or place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to speed up the process.
I ordered a whipped body butter and when it arrived melted, the jar wasn't full.
If you have purchased a whipped body butter, please note that due to the butter being incorporated with air, which gives it its light and fluffy consistency, it takes less to fill a jar than a jar of butter that has been filled and allowed to solidify on its own over time. Your container will appear to contain less product than the container size if it arrives melted. Butters are packaged based on the weight of the product and not the size of the container.
I have a nut allergy. Can I still use the products?
While we strive to use oils and butters that come from seeds versus plants, its not always possible based on the desired end result. If you have a known allergy to an ingredient listed in a product, please do not use our products to avoid any potential allergic reactions. Please consult with your physician for further clarifications on what is safe for you to use.
Can your products be used on children?
Our signature body butter was created because of my son and has been used by the entire family for years. The same is true for the oils. While the soaps are typically scented with essential oils, we occasionally will incorporate fragrance oils as well as micas. We do offer plain, unscented soaps as well.
But as with anything, please test a small area before applying to the whole body and immediately stop use if a reaction occurs.
I bought two bars of the same soap but they look different.
Due to the handmade nature of our soaps, no two bars are alike. Some may have slight imperfections but it does not change the quality or performance of the soap.
